Well, I figured since I had the photo, I would update with this. It was hard to find the appropriate category though ^_^;
Anyway, this is my sister and I in Yuan and Kratos cosplay from Tales of Symphonia (my sister's on the right). We wore these last year to Anime Boston 2006. Each of us made our own costumes. Though Sam did get a little help from Mom, but for the most part we did it by ourselves.
I'm pretty proud of the prop, which I designed and built on my own ^_^. My shoulder was killing me after the convention was over though. It wasn't that it was heavy, it's just that people liked the shots where I held it over my head (like the one here).
It was a lot of fun. We got lots of compliments, but no one knew who we were save like two people ^_^;;; But we didn't really mind.
Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

It was also published in NewTypeUSA!!! O_O (A friend showed it to me, I have a subscription and I didn't even notice... -_-; )
WOW!!! O_o That's so COOL!!! It looks pre~~tty. ^_^ What's it made out of? Wood? Wait, no, that'd be way too heavy, right? I'll understand if it's a secret though! XD It looks great!
o_O How could you not notice your own photo? That's weird. Was it that shocking? I wouldn't think so, your costume looking like the epitome of awesome-ness and all. ^_^

If you can't say something nice, at least make it funny.
It's actually made out of a flagpole and two of those 3-panel-display cardboard things. I cut off the knob on top of the flagpole, sanded off the finish, and then painted it blue. Then I cut the cardboard into the shape I wanted, but left a hole through each piece (I doubled it to make it sturdier) to fit the flagpole in. Afterwards I sandwiched the pole between some smaller pieces of cardboard and a lot of hot glue. Then all I had to do was wrap the edges in masking tape to give it a smooth look and paint it with latex paint (acrylic didn't work).
This method really worked out for me, because it didn't look like it was made of cardboard, even though it was. And by choosing the 3-panel display cardboard, which though thin is really sturdy, I didn't have to worry about damaging it every time it knocked against someone. It was also light enough for me to do some neat poses ^_^; <-- doesn't have a lot of physical strength/stamina.
I didn't notice it... Cause I wasn't looking for it... ^_^;
WHOA OO
I am going to make Yuan, too. So...i'm not making that costume, a friend of me does that...
i can't make costumes, thats why she have to do it xD;

You may want to try giving costume-making a shot, when I first started I didn't know how to turn on a sewing machine ^_^; Yet now I'm able to make costumes that I'm happy with, and this is only my third costume to date ^_^.
Wow! Lovely costumes! It looks like they took forever!
I understand going to a con and having no one recognize you. I went to a con of like 500 people as Aikka from Oban Star-Racers, and only one person lnew who I was. It was kinda lame.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
A Special Collection of photographs i found this month that still haunts my mind. Show them some love There are always some i can`t include due to space, i try to make the features under 50 deviations to give them better exposure
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
