Well, I'm back. I actually have been for nearly a month but I got so caught up in trying to get back on top of everything that I lost track of some things.
I'm pretty much up-to-date with all the Wellesley announcements and information I've been sent over the past 4 weeks I was gone. Inbox is cleaned out. And I'm finished with (almost) everything school-related.
In addition, since I got back, I've been teaching Japanese History on Sundays for MIT's HSSP program for high schoolers so that's been keeping me kind of busy. That and I've started work on next year's cosplay. Minor work, but work nonetheless.
The trip to Korea and Japan was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially since I planned the whole two weeks of the Japan half (hotels, sightseeing, transportation, etc). My wallet is painfully lighter, but as I go through the items I purchased, I feel no real regret.
Some random highlights:
- A chance sighting of a well-known (and one of my favorite) actor in Tokyo Station.
- Got the opportunity to eat real okonomiyaki in Osaka the proper way (eating off the spatulas), and the owner of the restaurant was sooo friendly, he made us guilty that we'd not be back to see him again. He gave us the steel spatulas we had used as souvenirs ^_^.
- Getting to actually see all the Shinsengumi locations.
- Soft-serve Icecream! It's everywhere!
- The Takarazuka performance of the Scarlet Pimpernel. Absolutely incredible.
In other news, ConnectiCon is coming up. I'm slated to present five panels there so that should keep me a little busy. I always love presenting there; the people are so nice and everything's very relaxed, but fun.

For reals, you've taken my deviantart watcher virginity. Sweet.
I saw, looking at comments on your work that you're into Japanese history, which is a major interest point of mine as well (which I'm sure is obvious). Just thought I'd mention it. So..If you ever want to throw that stuff around.
